Aptly named Artists in Heat, as North Texas summer temperatures continue to soar, SiNaCa Studios? annual membership drive will take place September 4?5 in Fort Worth?s eclectic Near Southside Community. For the fourth year running, the non-profit school of glass art and gallery will host a series of free, public events featuring a visiting artist. This year?s honored guest is award-winning Canadian glass artist Laura Donefer.
?For me, glass is a metaphor for life,? says Donefer. ?It can be totally transparent and reveal what is inside, or opaque to hide, or translucent and mysterious by giving mere glimpses?? Known as the ?glass diva,? Donefer?s work is instantly recognizable through its striking form and bright colors. Incorporating non-traditional techniques in her signature style, she also a passionate instructor. Piquing curiosity, SiNaCa Studios touts its spotlight artist?s ?colorful personality? in addition to her vibrant body of work.
Laura Donefer will host a lecture, presentation, artist reception, and demonstrations, over the course of this two-day, multi-venue event.
