Next Saturday, Craighead Green Gallery mounts New Texas Talent (NTT), where diverse artists working in varied mediums all across Texas share their unique, yet-to-be discovered talent. For 29 years, hundreds of applications are submitted annually to be evaluated by two different jurors each year. Once the artists’ works are chosen by the jurors, each artist will have the opportunity to present their selected works at Craighead Green Gallery for the annual group show.
This year’s jurors are Chris Stewart who founded Black Eye, a Dallas-based branding and design agency, and our very own founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief Terri Provencal. In addition to collecting art, they are both engaged patrons of the local art scene.

Through this unique exhibition, artists gain multiple opportunities, such as having their art exposed to art publications as well as a chance to show their work in galleries and other exhibitions. “NTT has become, over the years; a place for emerging artists to be seen and to gain exposure to the public and others involved in the art world. That was our goal then and remains the same today,” describes Kenneth Craighead, co-owner, and director of Craighead Green Gallery. “Artists can express their thoughts and ideas through various mediums, making this event all the more fascinating,” he adds.
NTT will officially open on Saturday July 9 from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. The artists will be present from 4 To 7 p.m. Roam and explore the exhibition through August 20th, free of charge.
