September 22 marks the 8th year for the nation?s largest day of giving back. North Texas Giving Day has raised over $119 million for local nonprofits over the past seven years. The event had broken four national records since the year 2009 and benefited more than 1,000 Dallas country-based nonprofits last year.

?The Senior Source has been proud to participate in North Texas Giving Day since its inception,? said Cortney Nicolato, president and CEO of the Senior Source. ?With more than $200,000 in contributions and 38 percent of those participating being first time donors, North Texas Giving Day helps us give Dallas seniors the tools they need to thrive.?

Donations for North Texas Giving Day are accepted from 6:00 A.M. to midnight. The Dallas County Donation Station event will take place at NorthPark Center from 11:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. and will feature performances by Dallas Black Dance Theater, Dallas Children?s Theater, The Texas Boys Choir and many others. DFWChild will sponsor the third annual KidsGive to provide the chance for children to donate loose change and participate in philanthropic activities designed with kids in mind.

?North Texas Giving Day is a day of celebration like no other when generous people from all over the world get up and give to advance their favorite causes and expand their impact,? said Susan Swan Smith, chief relationship officer, Communities Foundation of Texas and North Texas Giving Day leader. ?We?re honored to play a role in enhancing a donor?s experience, showing the power of community as we all come together to boost the strength of our nonprofits.?
