Texas Juried Exhibition Returns to Artspace111

Juried by PATRON publisher and editor-in-chief Terri Provencal, the 2026 exhibition brings together 40 artists selected from more than 2,400 submissions across Texas.

The Texas Juried Exhibition returns to Artspace111 this summer with a statewide view of contemporary art in Texas. Presented by the Love Texas Art Foundation, the 2026 exhibition will be on view July 25–August 29, with an opening reception and awards announcement on Saturday, July 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Now in its 13th year, the Texas Juried Exhibition continues its mission of recognizing exceptional artistic talent while creating professional opportunities and direct financial support for artists across the state. This year’s exhibition, juried by PATRON publisher and editor-in-chief Terri Provencal, includes 40 artists selected from more than 2,400 artwork submissions by 725 artists.

“The breadth of disciplines and diversity was impressive in this year’s Texas Juried Competition,” Provencal says. “Exploring new perspectives and revisiting familiar voices in the visual arts was especially rewarding, reaffirming that the enduring power of art resonates deeply in Texas.”

Selected artists include Brooke Armstrong, Rachel Black, Matthew Bourbon, Victoria Brill, Aleah Burns, Shannon Cannings, Xxavier Carter, Reuben Cheatem, Anese Eun Cho, Javier Coronado, Allie Dickerson, Shannon Durst, Brad Ellis, Sage Elwell, Afi Ese, Cameron Flores, Christine Guernsey, Maria Haag, Jack Hein, Cedric Ingram, Nosheen Iqbal, Jinsun Kim, Nancy Lamb, Laura Lawson, Yasuyo Maruyama, Slavi Nightingale, Alfredo Ortega, Anjali Pai, Ricardo Paniagua, Michelle Rahbar, Matt Rebholz, Shawn Saumell, Kate Swayze, Jason Thing, Tabatha Trolli, Sharmeen Uqaili, William Wahlgren, Robert Walker, Tiffany Williams, and Sheri Wilson.

The 2026 exhibition will award $20,000 in prizes, including the Edmund Craig Memorial First Prize, which includes a $10,000 cash award and the opportunity for the recipient to present a solo or group exhibition at Artspace111 in 2027. New this year, the Love Texas Art Foundation will also provide a $150 honorarium to every selected artist, acknowledging the time, labor, and cost involved in creating and exhibiting work.

“As a working artist, I understand the investment it takes to participate in exhibitions,” says Ariel Davis, co-founder of the Love Texas Art Foundation. “It was important to us that the Texas Juried Exhibition recognize that commitment by offering a $150 honorarium to every selected artist. We hope this reflects our belief that artists deserve meaningful support and helps raise the standard for how exhibitions can invest in the creative community.”

Funded through the Love Texas Art Foundation, the Texas Juried Exhibition has become one of the largest annual supporters of contemporary Texas artists, awarding more than $100,000 in prizes and artist support since its inception. The Foundation, a nonprofit extension of Artspace111, continues the legacy of Love Texas Art Gallery with a mission to celebrate Texas art and artists while providing financial support and resources to the creative community.

The exhibition also carries forward the spirit of the Edmund Craig Memorial Award, named for the Edmund Craig Gallery, founded in 1998 by Stan Edmund Sewell and Kenneth Craig Johnson. The Fort Worth gallery reflected their shared passion for the arts and presented work by local, national, and international artists across a range of media. Following their deaths in 2021 and 2022, their daughter, Katie Crim, and Jordan Snapka have continued to advocate for the arts in their honor.
