After a couple of delays, the return of the Dallas Art Fair is back. Tomorrow, November 12, the fair will officially open to the public. There are 59 exhibitors listed for this year’s iteration, down from almost 100 exhibitors in April of 2019. The pandemic obviously made an international gathering of this nature impossible while COVID-19 raged in the spotlight, and it is important that the health and safety of fair-goers are at the forefront. That being the case, the Dallas Art Fair asks that all visitors, participants, and staff at Dallas Art Fair over 12 years old must provide either proof of a negative COVID-19 test or proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination to enter the fair. Test results can be a negative PCR test or antigen test administered within 72 hours.
Let’s dive into some fresh faces for this year’s Dallas Art Fair:
Keijsers Koning is new to Dallas, with its inaugural exhibition Murmur featuring William Burton Binnie and Jeff Grant at their new location in Dallas, Texas. Previously the gallery spent fifteen years in New York. For Murmur, the two artists were first shown together in Manchester, UK, and the relation between their work created a resonance that begged to be explored further. You can get a peek of their first exhibition at the Dallas Art Fair, featuring works by William Binnie, Jeff Grant, along with Kaloki Nyamai, and Adrian Schachter.
Based in the culturally rich Brera district in the historical heart of Milan, Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea is an Italian contemporary gallery that represents Italian and international artists with well-established practices alongside many younger artists.
Its founder and namesake Mimmo Scognamiglio is an Italian gallerist who cut his curatorial teeth working for 10 years with renowned Italian art dealer and curator Lucio Amelio. Originally founded as Scognamiglio e Teano in 1995 in Naples, in 2007 the gallery was rechristened as Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea in 2000 and moved to the contemporary fashion and design capital of Milan. Since then, the gallery has been active on the city’s cultural scene, holding shows in public and private settings, collaborating with avant garde curators and publishers, and organizing art seminars.
BROADWAY from New York City was founded in 2020 by familiar names to the Dallas art scene, Joe Cole and Pascal Spengemann. A little over a year into their programming from their inaugural exhibition, in which they presented Lore, a solo show by artist and filmmaker Sky Hopinka in October of 2020. Since then, they’ve exhibited Meg Lipke, Andrew Kuo, Claire Oswalt, Devin Troy Strother, Edie Fake, Jo Nigoghossian, Lars Fisk, Sarah Cain, Andrea Marie Breiling, Claire Oswalt, and most recently a solo exhibition for Sarah Cain. At the fair the gallery showcases Andrew Kuo, Sarah Cain, Claire Oswalt, Sky Hopinka, DevinTroy Strother, Meg Lipke, Jo Nigoghossian, Lars Fisk, Edie Fake, and Josh Tonsfeldt.
OFG.XXX (Oliver Francis Gallery / Olivier François Galerie) was founded in 2011 by Kevin Rubén Jacobs. Between 2011–2017 he produced more than 50 exhibitions and performances with Dallas-based, international, emerging and mid-career artists. From 2013–2015, Jacobs served as curator of the Goss-Michael Foundation, managing one of the leading contemporary British art collections in the United States. In 2017, Jacobs established Puhskin & Gogol in Berlin with a contemporary art gallery in Kreuzburg and a private office/gallery in Charlottenburg. Currently, Pushkin & Gogol is a multi-service art company specializing in art installation and transportation. OFG.XXX resurrected in July 2021, marking its 10-year anniversary. For the fair, OFG is exhibiting Morehshin Allahyari, Clint Bargers, Jesse Morgan Barnett, Francisco Moreno, River Shell, and Brandon Thomspon.
P.A.O. Projects is a contemporary art gallery and project space located in Dallas, focused on artists from the Asia Pacific region. Housed in a historic storefront in the heart of the city’s Expo Park district, the gallery features over 1,000 square feet of exhibition space, including a dedicated bookstore. The gallery was founded in 2021 by Peter Augustus Owen, former associate publisher of ArtAsiaPacific magazine and associate director of public relations and digital marketing for Perrotin in Asia. For the fair the gallery exhibits dript., Narita Hikaru, Naruki Kukita, Ryoichi Nakamura, Masaya Nakayama, and Hiroaki Onuma

Since opening in 2000, Beatriz Esguerra Art has promoted selected Colombian artists locally and internationally. The gallery is committed to fostering the careers of its represented artists, from emerging to established, through carefully curated projects, exhibitions, publications, art fair participation in the US and Latin America, and joint ventures with American galleries. For the fair, BEA features Pablo Arrazola, Armando Castro, Teresa Currea, Pablo Posada-Pernikoff, Carlos Alarcon, Pedro Ruiz, and Santiago Uribe-Holguin.
From its inception in 1984, the focus of Conduit Gallery has been to show established artists alongside new talent within its program of provocative installations and exhibitions. The local favorite showcases work by Johnny Floyd, C. Meng, Ted Larsen, Maja Ruznic, James Sullivan, Annabel Daou, Marco Querin, Juan Fontanive, and Kevin Mcnamee-Tweed.
In January 1992 Drexel Galería decided to venture into the art world, betting on the young art movement of the 1990s. Almost 30 years later, the gallery has held multiple exhibitions with more than 150 Mexican and foreign artists, whose talent and creativity have made it possible to show different artistic expressions, as well the gallery has had the opportunity to promote our artists in Mexico and in other countries.
Drexel Galería has contributed research work and the acquisition of works of art for renowned museums and art collectors, mainly from the Mexican School and Masterpieces of Latin American painters, as well as 19th century work and Mexican Colonial art. For the fair the gallery features Cassandra de Santiago, Johannes Boekhoudt, Adrian Guerrero, Marina Láscaris, Beatriz Morales, Angel Ricardo Ricardo Rios, and Susan Schmidt-Hazen
Returning from Turin, Italy, Luce Gallery presents works by Ryan Cosbert and Auudi Dorsey.
Founded in 2015, Nino Mier Gallery is a contemporary art gallery focused on exhibiting a diverse and international program in the United States and Europe. Since opening, the gallery has opened four exhibition spaces in Los Angeles in addition to initiating Salon Nino Mier, an artist’s residency space in Cologne, Germany. In 2021, Nino Mier Gallery continued expansion with the launch of permanent spaces in Brussels, Belgium and Marfa, Texas. With a focus on artists from the German Rhineland, the gallery also represents many Los Angeles–based artists as well as an international roster of emerging and established painters, photographers and sculptors.
Since 1980, Robert McClain has focused on the exhibition and the acquisition of museum-quality modern and contemporary American and European art. McClain Gallery’s program represents important twentieth-century figures while continuing to commit to younger generations of artists, which includes primary representation of many Texas-based artists. The gallery has mounted monographic exhibitions, as well as published scholarly catalogues for Peter Halley, Donald Baechler, Andy Warhol, Robert Motherwell, Rosa Loy, The Bruce High Quality Foundation, Julian Schnabel, Bo Joseph, and Pablo Picasso. The Houston gallery’s exhibition program is augmented by survey and group shows that investigate current themes in contemporary art within historic contexts. For the fair they will exhibit John Alexander, Mel Chin, Sheila Hicks, Dorothy Hood, Bo Joseph, Julia Kunin, Elaine Reichek, Shane Tolbert, and Matthew Wong.
Another local favorite, established in 2010, Cris Worley Fine Arts is dedicated to promoting innovative work by contemporary artists at various stages of their careers. The gallery’s dynamic approach to fostering artistic growth includes the presentation of compelling exhibitions, and collaborations with public institutions, professional art organizations, and collectors, both locally and internationally.
For nearly two decades, Cris Worley has contributed to national art dialogues as a gallery director participating in art fairs, as a guest juror for numerous exhibitions, and as an esteemed art advisor. As a charter member of the Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas (CADD), Worley has played a vital role in the vigorous growth of the Dallas arts community, encouraging the evolution of contemporary art collections. Artist featured this year include Steven Charles, Kristen Cliburn, Maysey Craddock, Isabelle du Toit, Celia Eberle, Harry Geffert (1934-2017), Joshua Hagler, and Kelli Vance.
Galleri Urbane has its roots in the front two rooms of Ree and Jason Willaford’s former Victorian home located in Silver City, New Mexico. Clearing the rooms to create an impromptu gallery space, Jason Willaford’s exhibition of paintings, titled Belly of the Cowgirl, opened with a reception of about 50 people. The excitement of informal exhibitions like these gained the attention of local photographer Michael Berman, who eventually convinced the Willafords to start a formal gallery business that could represent his work. Galleri Urbane was hence founded in 1999. Two years later, in 2001 the gallery took a chance and formed a pop up in Marfa, Texas during the Chinati Foundation’s Open House Weekend. After two consecutive years of successful pop ups, Galleri Urbane officially relocated to a 100-year-old adobe building in Marfa in 2002 where it housed numerous exhibitions by artists like Michael Berman, Gail Peter Borden and Kate Carr. The gallery expanded the gallery to Dallas in the design district in 2009, while maintaining a prescence in West Texas until 2019, the gallery is now only located in Dallas and online. At the fair, Galleri Urbane features works by Stephen D’Onofrio, József Csató, Meghan Borah, Anna Kunz, Benjamin Terry, Sam Mack, Jason Willaford, and others.
Liliana Bloch Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded in Dallas in April of 2013. The gallery represents national and international artists working in all media. The gallery works to create a dialogue between collectors, curators, educational art venues, and the public.
In 2014, the gallery started its public art program URBANO to educate and promote the understanding of contemporary art featuring selected artworks and experimental interdisciplinary projects outside the confines of the traditional gallery physical space.
The gallery believes in the power of education and uses contemporary art as a catalyst for critical thinking and contextual perspectives promoting peace, understanding, and appreciation for knowledge and excellence. For their booth the gallery will show Simón Vega and Alicia Eggert.
Valley House Gallery & Sculpture Garden
Always a big hit at the fair, VHG showcases a massive lineup of artists including Deborah Ballard, Vera Barnett, Kathy Boortz, Lloyd Brown, Sean Cairns, Lindy Chambers, John Cobb, Brian Cobble, Robert D. Cocke, David Collins, Carol A. Cook, Alex Corno, Mike Cunningham, David A. Dreyer, David Everett, Henry Finkelstein, Barnaby Fitzgerald, Malou Flato, Bart Forbes, Lilian Garcia-Roig, Ginger Henry Geyer, David H. Gibson, Allison Gildersleeve, Miles Cleveland Goodwin, Cindi Holt, Otis Huband, Anita Huffington, Emily LaCour, Jason Mehl, Mark Messersmith, Trish Nickell, Gail Norfleet, Michael O’Keefe, Luke Sides, Hadar Sobol, Jane K. Starks, Jim Stoker, Bob Stuth-Wade, Chaco Terada, Valton Tyler, Mary Vernon, Donald S. Vogel, Anne C. Weary, Amy Werntz, Jim Woodson, and Miguel Zapata.
Founded in London in 2002, Simon Lee Gallery represents artists of diverse generations whose practices explore a wide range of media, from sculpture and painting to video and photography, and who share a broad interest in an exploration of the conceptual. Aiming to provide a significant international audience for its artists, the gallery also regularly punctuates its programming with historical exhibitions and curated group shows, which present shifts in contemporary art practice and thought, whilst broadening the dialogue with artists outside of the gallery’s core programming. In addition to its UK activity, in 2012 the gallery opened a space in Hong Kong, which introduced its artists to a wider public in Asia. For the DAF, the galley will showcase, Chris Huen Sin Kan.
William Campbell Contemporary Art
Founded in 1974, William Campbell Gallery exhibits high-quality contemporary art in a variety of media, including paintings, works on paper, mixed-media constructions, photography, prints, ceramics, and sculpture. By exhibiting nationally recognized artists, along with new and emerging talent, the gallery aims to nurture an awareness and appreciation of the exciting diversity found in contemporary art. 12.26
12.26 is a Dallas-based contemporary art gallery with a focus on emerging and mid-career artists. Co-founded by sisters Hannah Fagadau and Hilary Fagadau, 12.26 was created with the intention of offering a new international perspective to the Dallas gallery landscape. The gallery will feature Hayley Barker, Amy Bessone, Talia Levitt, Marjorie Norman Schwarz.
