This year, North Texas Giving Day, in its 14th year, will premiere with more than 3,300 nonprofits (3,334, to be exact) from the Red River to the Brazos; from Dallas, Denton, Collin, Tarrant, and 16 other North Texas counties set to benefit from the critical financial support generated each year by this colossal day of giving.
Of the more than 1,450 registered Dallas County nonprofits, Rhealyn Carter, vice president of advancement at participating Dallas County nonprofit the Dallas Zoo, shares, “The Dallas Zoo uses North Texas Giving Day to connect with both new and long-time donors and share the many ways we’re creating a better world for animals. Our supporters made it possible for more than 98,000 students from across North Texas to return to the Zoo this spring and build an appreciation for the natural world. In addition to inspiring guests, donors on North Texas Giving Day help us provide exceptional care behind the scenes by covering unexpected or unusual costs – things like special formula for baby tigers and staff overtime for late-night bottle feedings.”
Major institutions like the Dallas Zoo are not alone in the sentiment of connecting with large and small donors to improve their working practices and the help they provide to others in need.
This year there are over 500 nonprofits that are engaged to support the arts, culture, and humanities. Many of which cannot fully realize their mission without the funding received through North Texas Giving Day. Communities Foundation of Texas’ 14th annual North Texas Giving Day presented by Amazon is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation, empowering givers to find their passion and purpose by uplifting the nonprofits in the communities where they live, work, and play. In another record-setting year, in 2021 more than 103,000 people rallied to give a combined $66 million to 100% of North Texas Giving Day nonprofits.

This North Texas Giving Day will take place Thursday, September 22. With no shortage of causes to support in our community, North Texas Giving Day aims to help donors find their passion and give with purpose by offering many ways to get involved this giving day season:
- Donate to any nonprofit or fundraiser found on www.northtexasgivingday.org between 6 a.m. on September 1 and midnight September 22, 2022.
- Get involved with any of these volunteer opportunities serving Dallas County
- FIRST DAY OF EARLY GIVING: Thursday, September 1, 6-10 p.m. Get tickets to “Thursdays on Tap at Perot Museum” celebrating the opening of NTX Giving Day’s early giving with after-hours access to the museum exhibits, live music, drinks, and food trucks. - ON GIVING DAY : Thursday, September 22, 10 a.m. –noon, attend the FREE “Health and Wellness Festival hosted by ChildCareGroup in celebration with Communities Foundation of Texas” at Exall Park (1355 Adair St., Dallas, TX 75214.) The free public event includes music, food, games, book and other giveaways, medical screenings, and more. All are invited to attend. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero.
