Tomorrow night Barry Whistler Gallery will be teeming with art enthusiasts to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the art space and the final weeks in its current location. Anchoring Deep Ellum for the past three decades, this important gallery will soon relocate to the Dallas Design District at 315 Cole Street sometime in April. Formerly the home of Lab Art Texas, Buchanan Architects has been tapped to reimagine the 4500-square-foot venue for Barry Whistler Gallery.

?We are looking forward to joining our neighbors and friends in the Dallas Design District. Russell Buchanan is putting together a clean, museum like-space for us. The larger footprint gives us more opportunity to spread our wings,? Barry Whistler tells Patron.

The anniversary show features the entire artist roster including new works by Tom Orr, Linnea Glatt, John Pomara, and Ann Stautberg. Whistler believes this is a most-fitting closing exhibition at 2909 Canton before moving to the new neighborhood. The esteemed artist lineup also includes: Jonathan Cross, Nathan Green, Luke Harnden, Terrell James, Ellsworth Kelly, Darryl Lauster, Lawrence Lee, Kirsten Macy, Skeet McAuley, Michael C. McMillen, Michael Miller, John-Paul Philippe, Dan Rizzie, Andrea Rosenberg, Johnnie Winona Ross, Allison V. Smith, Ann Stautberg, Lorraine Tady, John Wilcox, Robert Wilhite, Leslie Wilkes, Danny Williams, and Mark Williams.
